Turbo Rally Racing is a PC-based game that focuses on competitions between heavy-duty vehicles in off-road scenarios.
Turbo Rally Racing represents an interesting departure from normal racing platforms. As opposed to being provided with sleek racing cars, this game offers users the ability to get behind the wheels of turbo-charged lorries and other 4x4 vehicles. The head-to-head competitions are very engaging and the graphics are extremely impressive for a game within this genre. Another aspect of this series which makes it desirable is that the driver is provided with a first-person point of view during the competitions. This adds an extra sense of realism to the white-knuckle excitement sure to follow.
Options
There are three options which can be chosen before each race. One can go straight on to a new competition, the vehicle shop can be visited or the vehicle could be upgraded. In terms of tuning, portions such as the engine, the suspension and even the addition of a turbo boost mechanism (hence the title) are possible. The ability to obtain these enhancements will equate to one's performance during previous races.
Environment and Handling
Considering Turbo Rally Racing was only released in 2015, it stands to reason that the graphics should be impressive. Indeed, the different tracks are very realistic. Dust, debris and three-dimensional landscapes are all considered to be state-of-the art features. Although controlling the vehicles through the use of a standard keyboard is easy, the responsiveness of the units can leave much to be desired. As is characteristic of many racing games, the cars have a "slippery" feel to them and they are not are responsive around turns as many would prefer. This could be offset by the fact that the driver can ram other vehicles off of the road. So, Turbo Rally Racing is actually very close to what could otherwise be called a demolition derby. This will please fans of Grand Theft Auto and similar franchises.
The End Verdict
Turbo Rally Racing is a great option for anyone who enjoys a free online racing platform. At just under 60 megabytes, it is also quite a lightweight game in terms of memory usage.
